IT BEGINS WITH A STORY
In 1666 Isaac Newton developed many of his most important concepts regarding calculus, gravity and physics...while in quarantine at his home due to an outbreak of the plague.
In fact, the year was so pivotal he labeled it his “year of wonders.”
While we recognize there has been tremendous suffering on account of the present global pandemic, we also believe this can be an important time of discovery and an opportunity to think about the future in new ways.
To that end, join us for the second Oklahoma "Wonder" Grant.
WHAT IS THE SPRING 2021 OKLAHOMA WONDER GRANT?
NextThought and the Ronnie K. Irani Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth at the University of Oklahoma are offering an in-kind, $15,000 competitive grant and consulting services to one private business, non-profit or public sector entity based in Oklahoma.
It's an opportunity to think about the future...while waiting on the pandemic.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
In short, any Oklahoma organization!
To be eligible, the applicant organization must be based in the state of Oklahoma. It can be a for-profit business, a non-profit organization or a public sector entity. To see if the grant is a good fit for your organization, please review the case studies and example projects below.
NextThought and I-CCEW are hosting an informational webinar where applicants will learn basic information about the grant and have the opportunity to ask questions. While both webinar sessions will cover the same material, it offers two opportunities to connect throughout the open application period. Serious applicants and curious parties are encouraged to attend.
Friday, January 29th | 12pm-12:30pm
Wednesday, February 10th | 3pm-3:30pm
A selection panel of thought leaders in various fields has been assembled to review grant applications. They will score each entry based on creativity, impact, feasibility and implementation plan. More information about the scoring matrix is available within the application.
